Security
SSL
All information travelling between your browser and Rent Relay is protected from using 256-bit SSL encryption. The lock icon in your browser allows you to verify that you aren’t talking to a phishing site impersonating Rent Relay and that your data is secure in transit.
Firewalls
The Rent Relay System, and associated client data, is protected by high performance and well-tested firewalls whose integrity is verified regularly over the course of the day.
Vulnerability scanning
Rent Relay’s servers are consistently scanned for vulnerabilities using world class industry standard security applications. Scans test our servers externally from the Internet and internally from our network. Identified problems are addressed as soon as they are discovered and as quickly as possible.
Strong encryption
Our database encrypts all particularly sensitive information such as bank account information, and your payment gateway account details.
Physical security
Rent Relay servers that store your data and manage rent payment transactions are housed in a secure Datacentre.
Reliability
Redundant servers and datacentres
Rent Relay infrastructure has integrated redundant storage and servers to keep the Rent Relay System and your data available in the case of hardware failure. These application servers are stored in a geographically separate datacentre in case our primary datacentre is made unavailable due to disaster or other disruption.
Backups
The risk of data loss is mitigated by replicating your Rent Relay account across multiple database servers in two geographic locations. Rent Relay has also scheduled regular nightly tape backups which are stored in a secure offsite location. This extra step will ensure that your information will be safe and your records can be quickly restored in the event of a natural disaster.
